They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, well, in case they forgot, mornings also happen to be the most rushed time as well, and getting nourishment isn’t always easy.

Try some of these on-the-go breakfast ideas that are not only quick and easy, but tasty too. With a little foresight and preparation you can have breakfast ready, as you walk out of the door.
Greek yogurt and fresh fruit are good for us, so let’s freeze it! Yes, you can have ice lollies for breakfast, simply mash your favourite berries with some runny honey, stir loosely into greek yoghurt, fill lolly moulds and slip into your freezer.
Muffins are basically the best portable breakfast around, and packed with healthy ingredients like fruit and nuts, they’re even better. Find a trusted recipe and bake ahead, they store well and will be ready when you are. Try savoury versions as well.
If you need a protein belt first thing, Mini omelettes can be made ahead of time and popped in the microwave for 30 seconds for a quick, healthy on the go breakfast, they really do reheat well, and are ideal for freezing. They can be easily customised with your own preferred fillings, and once cooked all you have to do is store them in refrigerator, for when you want them.

 

To make Overnight oats, up cycle clean, empty jam or conserve jars. Fill the container with one part raw rolled oats and one part cows, soya, almond or even coconut milk and leave overnight in the fridge. In the morning add fruit, nuts, yoghurt, as well as honey and you’re away!
Breakfast through a straw, there are thousands of great smoothie recipes using your favourite ingredients that can be prepared in a flash. Try blitzing frozen bananas, peanut butter, and honey, this healthy combination is perfect for breakfast on the go.
Muesli scones are a great idea, use different dried fruits and nuts for the muesli scone recipe you chose, and develop your own favourite combination.
Granola is not a dirty word, find a recipe that sounds scrummy and take the time to make your own energy-boosting version to start your day – it’s good for you! It is easy to make and lasts for ages in a sealed container. Homemade is always nicer, cheaper, and can be made portable with the trusty jam jar mentioned earlier, just add fruit, milk, yoghurt or even peanut butter for a chewy treat.
